As the days start to warm up, I love to turn my morning porridge into Overnight Oats.  I have been researching and trying different flavours over the last month and here are some of my favourites that I wanted to share with you.  You can soak them in different containers as well, the mason jar ones don’t work for me that well as I find them more difficult to eat from.  I end up decantering them out into a bowl and that is just more washing up.  My personal favourite is the round glass container, as this doubles as a fabulous bowl.  But each to their own, do what works for you.
Let us know some of your favourite combinations.

BASE RECIPE

  • 1/3 cup GF Oats
  • 1 tbspn Chia Seeds
  • 2 dspns Yoghurt
  • 1/2 cup preferred Milk

METHOD:

Combine all ingredients togher in a jar or an airtight container.  Add less or more milk according to your desired preference for consistency.  Stir well until combined, cover with gladwrap or lid and refrigerate overnight.

 

CHOOSE YOUR FLAVOUR COMBINATION TO ADD TO THE BASE RECIPE

BANANA NUT

  • 1 tbspn of Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1 tbspn of Nut Butter
  • 2 tbspns of Pecans of Walnuts
  • 1/2 Banana sliced (add the following morning)

PINA COLADA

  • 1 tbspn honey
  •  1 dsspn of shredded coconut
  •  2 tbspns of almond, slivered or sliced
  • 1/4 cup of diced pineapple
CARROT CAKE
  • 1 small grated carrot
  • 1 tbspn maple syrup
  • 2 tbspns of chopped pecan
  • 1/4 tspn of cinnamon
  • 1 tbspn of sunflower seeds

 

 

BLUEBERRY LEMON

 

  • 1 tbsp Blueberry Jam
  • 1/2 tsp Lemon Rind
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 cup of fresh or frozen Blueberries

 

CHOCOLATE STRAWBERRY
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1/3 cup of GF Chocolate Muesli
  • 1/4 cup Strawberries, sliced & hulled
