GF Oats Mixed Spice Granola – A Christmas Delight

 

There is nothing like Homemade Granola. Especially our GF Oats Mixed Spice Granola.

I don’t know about you, but I just love a great granola. They make a tub of yoghurt for breakfast or a snack seem so much more palatable. So, what better way to both enjoy summer and the Christmas season than using the Mixed Spice muesli and making up a granola.

However, as you may have experienced, they do cost a bomb. So, let’s make our own. I mean, I’ve literally done all the hard work mixing all the yummy ingredients together. So here we go.

Recipe

 

Ingredients

4 cups of Mixed Spice Muesli
½ cup of coconut oil
½ cup of coconut syrup or maple syrup (optional)

 

Method:

Measure out 4 cups of GF Oats Mixed Spice Muesli into a bowl. Now, unfortunately, I have added the fruit and it does burn in the oven, so run your fingers through and get out as much of the fruit as possible and just set it aside.

Add in ½ cup of coconut oil and if you think you need it a bit sweeter, add in a couple of tablespoons of the syrup of choice.

Mix well, you don’t want it to be too wet.

Preheat your oven to around 150o C, not too hot. Pour prepared muesli into a tray.

Pop it into the oven for around ½ hour to brown. I checked after about 15 minutes and mixed it to prevent burning. Once the mixture has browned turn your oven down to about 50oC and leave for about an hour.

Then turn your oven off and just leave the pilot light on to assist the mixture to dry out. I did mine at night so in the morning the mixture was done.

See, not so hard. Give it a go I think you will be deliciously surprised.
