We are recreating this gorgeous Plum Porridge recipe from the Friendship Foods Book. But first, here’s my review on this delicious book.

Friendship Food Book Review

Delicious feelgood food, it really says it all, doesn’t it? The title of a fabulous little recipe book that showcases everyday recipes to use across the day that are gluten-free, yeast-free, dairy-free, egg-free and refined sugar-free.

I met Felicity during their book launch a few years ago in Toowoomba. And to my delight, I discovered she was local. She lives just down the road at Allora. Also, she had been sourcing our Gloriously Free Oats and refers to and uses them in some of her recipes.

We were given the opportunity to purchase and resell these books, so we jumped at the chance. So it is my please to share one of the recipes with you in this month’s Kylie’s Kitchen Recipe release.

Plum Porridge Recipe

Quote from the book. “A real comfort breakfast. This meal has satisfied many pregnancy and breastfeeding hunger pains over the years.”

Ingredients

  • 1 cup GF Oats
  • 1 cup rice milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 dried pitted prunes
  • LSA (ground linseeds, sunflower seeds and almonds)

Method

Add all ingredients to a saucepan and simmer until thick. Add more rice milk for a thinner porridge. Sprinkle with LSA. Serves 1.
