Tub Teas – DIY or let’s get you sorted
Tub tea! I hadn’t actually heard about them until last year when we were discussing various options on how we can use the wasted oats from broken bags or short-dated stock and some bright spark mentioned Tub Tea. Being a bath lover and oat lover, well say no more, I was completely on board. I reached out to our beautiful soap maker who assisted us with blending and creating the beautiful Tub Tea blends we have on offer today.
Tub tea is just like bath salts or a bath soak but contains loose, oats, dried herbs, essence, and salts. Because loose oats and herbs can be quite messy in a bathtub (and wreak havoc on your poor bathroom drain), tub teas are usually contained in a small bag (or tea ball) that “steeps” in your tub.
We created 3 Tub Teas in our range which are all on sale this week -
- Rose, and
All made locally in our processing room you can purchase them in a ready-to-gift box or in refill packs. Both come with Tub Teabags.
Tub Tea is an especially perfect gift for the health-conscious person on your list, who will be sure to recognize the healing ingredients in each jar or packet!
Here is a fabulous recipe if you would like to DIY:
Chamomile Oatmeal Soak
1 cup dry oatmeal
1 cup Epsom salts
4 heaping tablespoons Chamomile Lemon Tea (or contents of 6 Chamomile Lemon Teabags)
10 drops of chamomile essential oil (optional- I enjoy the extra boost of chamomile scent since Chamomile isn’t as strongly scented as other teas)
Pop into a glass jar or bag and you can shake the ingredients together or you can layer each of the ingredients for presentations purposes.
Filling your bath is like filling your cup – Enjoy.
