1. Classic Cinnamon and Honey Porridge
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups milk or water
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp honey
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
- In a pot, bring the milk or water to a boil with the Oats.
- Add the cinnamon, and salt.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat, stir in honey, and serve.
- Optional - top with fuit & nuts of choice
2. Banana Nut Porridge
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups almond milk
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
- 2 tbsp chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
- In a pot, bring the Oats and almond milk to a boil.
- Add mashed banana, and salt.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and top with walnuts before serving.
- Optional - top with extra banana and nut butter
3. Berry Bliss Porridge
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups milk or water
- 1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1-2 tbsp maple syrup
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
- In a pot, bring the oats and milk or water to a boil.
- Add the berries, chia seeds, and salt.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat, stir in maple syrup, and serve.
4. Apple Pie Porridge
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups apple juice
- 1 apple, chopped
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 2 tbsp raisins
Instructions:
- In a pot, bring the oats and apple juice to a boil.
- Add the chopped apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve warm.
5. Tropical Coconut Porridge
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup diced pineapple
- 1/4 cup diced mango
- 2 tbsp shredded coconut
- 1 tbsp honey
Instructions:
- In a pot, bring the oats, coconut milk and water to a boil.
- Add the diced pineapple.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat, stir in honey, mango and shredded coconut, and serve.
6. Peanut Butter and Banana Porridge
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups milk or water
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 ripe banana, sliced
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- In a pot, bring the oats milk or water to a boil.
- Reduce heats and stir in the peanut butter and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and top with banana slices before serving.
7. Choco-Berry Porridge
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups milk or water
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 cup mixed berries
- 1-2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
Instructions:
- In a pot, bring the oats and milk or water to a boil.
- Add the cocoa powder.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the sweetener and berries before serving.
8. Spiced Pumpkin Porridge
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups milk or water
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp star anise
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1-2 tbsp maple syrup
Instructions:
- In a pot, bring the oats and milk or water to a boil.
- Add the pumpkin puree, and spices.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the maple syrup and serve.
9. Vanilla Almond Porridge
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups almond milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp sliced almonds
- 1-2 tbsp honey
Instructions:
- In a pot, bring the oats and almond milk to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and top with sliced almonds and honey before serving.
- Optional - top with seasonal fruit
10. Savory Spinach and Feta Porridge
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
- In a pot, bring the oats and vegetable broth to a boil.
- Reduce heat and stir in the spinach and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat, stir in feta cheese and black pepper, and serve.
