Q. Are GF Oats gluten free?
A. Here in Australia, we are unable to call any product that contains oats
gluten free. We do claim we are the oats you can trust because we ensure
thatĀ each batch of oatsĀ are testedĀ to be free from the gluten
contamination from wheat, rye and barley.
Q. How do you test the oats to ensure they are free from the gluten found in wheat, rye and barley?
A. Great question. We send a sample of oats to an independent testing lab
called Symbio where they test for āglutenā contamination. They can
measure gliadin, hordein, and secalin.

Our Commitment to you
It is important to us here at GK Gluten Free Foods that we provide Australian consumers with oats that are free from contamination from the gluten that is found in wheat, rye and barley.
To ensure that we are providing you with āThe Oats You Can Trustā we partner with our approved network of Australian farmers who follow the Global Oats Protocol growing clean, uncontaminated oats. Their oats are uniquely grown using minimal impact growing techniques and crop exclusion zones, and are processed in facilities that are free from the contamination from the gluten found in wheat, rye, spelt and barley grains.
Australian Labelling Laws
Current labelling laws in Australia and New Zealand restrict us from labelling any product that contains oats as gluten-free. Other countries around the world have different labelling laws that apply to uncontaminated oats.
Testing
Each batch of oats is independently tested by Symbio in Brisbane. The gluten test from Symbio is reported as <3ppm as this is the level of quantification for their testing. They use the R-biopharm test kit for gluten, which uses an antigen-antibody reaction to determine gluten levels.Ā <3ppm effectively equates to ā0ā or nil gluten detected. Ā
Note: 2015 updates to the labelling laws now allow us to labelĀ GF Oats products as āLow Glutenā. Low Gluten simply means <20ppm which still doesnāt represent the purity of our product.
'Wheat free' Oats also does NOT represent the purity of our oats. As there is no formal definition of what 'Wheat free' means, it can be presumed that they are NOT free from Rye or Barley. We consider this to be a serious problem for customers.
ANZAC Biscuits
It is a requirement of Veterans Affairs that any product that carries the word ANZAC for commercial purposes be approved. We are pleased to inform all our customers that we have done this.Ā The letter of Approval received by Veterans Affairs can be viewed here.Ā
FAQāS
We appreciate that customers have many questions regarding this product and the branding as it can be confusing when we are unable to completely communicate the true representation of these oats due to labelling restrictions.

Hubby loves these cookies, canāt keep them in the pantry so easy to make,
Amazing chocolate cookies .. love the texture , level of sweetness not to high not to less and perfect for afternoon time with coffee
Ok , so choc biscuit:
Again, comes together easily. It's great fun getting your fingers in there to rub in butter. I did not find the mixture dry at all, as the recipe suggests.
No GF flour after-taste and its like a brownie biscuit in the middle.
For my taste, I'd add about 2T icing sugar to the premix and I also think, your GF choc bits will be delicious, melted & drizzled on top, as opposed to icing sugar, thereby being an all year round seller.
I don't usually like chocolate biscuits, but these don't have an overpowering cocoa taste and again, the flavours are balanced.
Well done Kylie, now let's get selling
