Made from all the same ingredients we know and love in our Anzac biscuits (i.e - rolled oats), but in slice form, for a super presentable yet tasty snack.
As Aussies, we can't say no to a bit of slice in our lives. Be it the vanilla slice or the hedgehog slice, the rectangular shape just seems to make every dessert better! This update on the traditional Anzac biscuit is a winner, and sure to go down a treat in every household.
GF Anzac biscuits - Oat Biscuit Slice
Ingredients
1 cup of Gluten Free *no oat flour
1 cup of coconut
1 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of GF Oats
80g Butter (Nuttelex for Dairy Free option)
2 tablespoon of syrup
2-3 tablespoons of hot water
Optional: if you want to change it slightly add some sultanas, cranberries or chocolate chips.
Method
Place all the dry ingredients together.
Place the butter and syrup in the microwave for 1 minute. Add this to the dry ingredients.
Add hot water 1 tablespoon at a time until the mixture just binds together.
Press into a prepared tray.
Bake in the oven at about 160oC for 10-12 minutes or until well browned.
Leave on the tray until they cool. If they are still too soft place back into a warm oven for 15 minutes and they will dry out.
