Gingerbread Oatmeal Using GF Oats

Gingerbread Oatmeal

Ready to spice up your festive season? This super simple gingerbread oatmeal is a fun and festive way to celebrate. 

INGREDIENTS:

  • ½ cup GF Oats rolled oats
  • 1 cup water or milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ tsp ground nutmeg
  • A pinch of ground cloves
  • Pinch of allspice (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Optional toppings:

  • Chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
  • Fresh or dried berries
  • Extra drizzle of maple syrup
  • Coconut flakes or pumpkin seeds
  • Gluten Free Gingerbread Biscuit

 
METHOD

  1. In a small saucepan, mix oats, milk, molasses, salt, and all spices.
  2. Heat over medium heat until it starts to bubble. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 4–6 minutes, until the oats are creamy and tender.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract and taste. Adjust sweetness or spice if needed.
  4. Pour into a bowl and add your favourite toppings.
