
Ready to spice up your festive season? This super simple gingerbread oatmeal is a fun and festive way to celebrate.
INGREDIENTS:
- ½ cup GF Oats rolled oats
- 1 cup water or milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup (or to taste)
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp ground nutmeg
- A pinch of ground cloves
- Pinch of allspice (optional)
- Pinch of salt
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Optional toppings:
- Chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
- Fresh or dried berries
- Extra drizzle of maple syrup
- Coconut flakes or pumpkin seeds
- Gluten Free Gingerbread Biscuit
METHOD
- In a small saucepan, mix oats, milk, molasses, salt, and all spices.
- Heat over medium heat until it starts to bubble. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 4–6 minutes, until the oats are creamy and tender.
- Stir in vanilla extract and taste. Adjust sweetness or spice if needed.
- Pour into a bowl and add your favourite toppings.
