We have something very special this week! We are cooking Porridge with a special guest. George originally from Scotland, has entered Kylie's Kitchen and was kind enough to share his family recipe to make porridge.

And apparently we have been doing it wrong!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Cup GF Oats
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Cup Boiling Water
  • 1 Cup of Milk (to cook)
  • 1/2 Cup Milk (to serve)
  • 1/2 Cup of Milk (to serve)

METHOD

  1. Bring the kettle to the boil
  2. Pour oats into a stainless steel pot.
  3. Add salt and 1 cup of water into the oats and stir until mixed.
  4. Once combined, add one cup of milk into the pot
  5. Place onto the stove on high and continuously stir while it comes to the boil.
  6. Once you see it 'popping' or bubbling, turn off the heat and leave for 4 minutes.
  7. Scoop 1-2 ladles of porridge into the bowl. Add 1/2 cup of milk to the warm porridge.
  8. Enjoy!
