A World Heart Day Special

Show your heart a little love with this Heart-Healthy Oat Bowl. 
Packed with cholesterol-lowering oats, antioxidant-rich berries, and omega-3 loaded walnuts, it’s a brekkie your heart will thank you for.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup GF Oats rolled oats
  • 2 cups water (or unsweetened almond milk for creaminess)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed (extra omega-3s)
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen blueberries (antioxidants for heart health)
  • ½ cup sliced strawberries or fresh raspberries
  • 2 tbsp walnuts, roughly chopped (good fats for the heart)
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds (zinc + magnesium)
  • Drizzle of GF Oats Honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)

  
METHOD

  1. In a small saucepan, bring water (or almond milk) to a gentle simmer.
  2. Stir in oats and cinnamon, then cook over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until creamy.
  3. Remove from heat, stir through flaxseed and half the blueberries.
  4. Divide into bowls and top with strawberries, remaining blueberries, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds.
  5. Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup if desired.
